Bedrooms & Indoor Areas
When you stay with us you'll be lodged at an old, large, spacious house that was originally built in the 17th century. It has historically been comprised of several divisions, which we have now re-configured to offer ten double bedrooms, most of which can accommodate an extra bed. Read further info and a detailed description of each room in our Accommodation page [link]. The house also has a further four living rooms, two dining areas, two kitchens and several foyers and hallways - all served by excellent wi-fi signal. The outdoors is no less rich in its offers, with a range of stunning productive and ornamental gardens and a number of innovative outbuildings. We do rent many of these spaces for events too, if you are interested.
Rooms can be combined into different configurations for a larger family or group – as self-contained units of two or more rooms in separate wings or floors of the house, and they may be able to include your own kitchen and living room for a more private use depending on your group size. We do also rent the whole property as a package, whether it is for an event or just for an unforgettable group holiday / get-away. We will do our best to meet your specific needs, but do get in touch with us first with the details so we can give you a quote.
The Living Rooms all have their own form of heating, we provide wood and locally produced pellets for the fireplaces and wood-burner. Living rooms are equipped with TVs and a range of games, DVDs and books for our guests' use. If you take any away with you, make sure you leave as many behind - we don't mind recycling our stock, but we're not too keen on unethical exploitation of non-renewable resources :)
The Kitchens are equipped with all the comforts of home, and we hope you will find all you need in them (please do ask us, if you don't!). You will find there are large recycling bins and compost buckets: please use them as often as you can, preferably always. There are also a number of re-usable bags and bottles available, so you are all set for shopping and drinking water on your sightseeing trips without having to buy any more plastic!
The reception is open to all visitors during office hours, for a range of information and literature, advice on where to go and what to do, guidance on garden activities, or just some friendly chatter! If there is no-one in the office, come look for us in the grounds - we are bound to be doing some work in one of the gardens (this may include observing wildlife by the poolside: a strenuous task we often engage with, especially when it's hot and sunny...).
